On Thursday, January 8, 2026, the cruise ship Virgin Voyages arrived in Bonaire for the first time. The ship is very new, approximately one year old, and brought 2,500 passengers to the island.

Virgin Voyages is a cruise line specifically for adults aged 18 and over. The ship has a modern appearance and differs from many other cruise ships. The shipping company indicated that in the future the vessel will return to Bonaire two or three more times.

Upon arrival, the captain received a warm welcome from Harbor Master Gunther Flanegin, Marlon Bermudez on behalf of Tourism Deputy Anthony Weber, and a representative of Tourism Corporation Bonaire (TCB).

Bonaire is pleased with this collaboration. The visit of Virgin Voyages is an indication that the island is becoming increasingly important to cruise companies. This contributes to positive development of tourism on the island.
