Arrest for driving under the influence of alcohol

On Thursday, February 5, around 10:50 p.m., the central dispatch center received a report of an accident on the dirt road near Santa Clara. Upon arrival, the patrol found a vehicle in the bushes with the engine still running, while the driver was still sitting behind the wheel.

During the check, the driver could not show a valid driver’s license or proof of insurance. A breath test indicated that he had consumed more alcohol than legally permitted. The man, with initials M.A.I., 59 years old, was arrested and taken to the police station.

Planned control on fatbikes

On the evening of Thursday, February 5, a planned control was carried out targeting a group of youths on fatbikes. Officers checked the speed of all five fatbikes, and two of them were found to be going faster than allowed. These two fatbikes were confiscated for further investigation on a roller test bench.

Diver passes away

On Thursday, February 5, around 4:00 p.m., the central dispatch center received a report about a tourist who became unwell in the sea near Klein Bonaire. People aboard a nearby private boat removed the person from the water and transported him to the pier at the marina, where ambulance personnel were ready to provide medical assistance.

Upon arrival, resuscitation efforts began immediately. Despite all efforts, the desired result was not achieved. The victim, an American man with initials C.D.L., 57 years old, died on the scene.

Car overturns

On Thursday, February 5, around 3:20 p.m., a car overturned on Kaminda Gurubu. The driver lost control of the steering wheel, after which the vehicle ended up in the bushes on its roof.

According to the “crash is breath” procedure, a breath test was administered, but it showed no alcohol consumption. The driver was fined for driving without a valid driver’s license.

Arrest for threats

On Thursday, February 5, around 11:30 a.m., a 32-year-old man with initials R.R.R.M. was arrested on Kaminda Lagun for destruction and threats. The suspect destroyed items in a house and threatened several people with death. The investigation into this case is ongoing.
