Commissioner Joselito Statia submitted his resignation in writing as a member of the Executive Council. With the submission of his resignation, Mr. Statia steps down from his position as commissioner with immediate effect.
The Public Entity Bonaire wishes to provide the community with clarity regarding the government situation. The Executive Council remains fully authorized to carry out its duties. In accordance with the applicable rules, the Executive Council consists of the Island Governor (Gezaghebber) and a minimum of two commissioners. Therefore, with the two remaining commissioners in office, the Executive Council will continue to function fully.
Service delivery to the community will continue uninterrupted, and daily operations will proceed as usual.
At this moment, a successor for Mr. Statia has not yet been appointed. As soon as there is more clarity, the Public Entity Bonaire will inform the community accordingly.
