Leader of the AVP faction, Jennifer Arends-Reyes, recalled that the unions had already clearly defined their position regarding the Rijkswet HOFA. The group of unions formalized their stance in October by sending a letter in which they outlined their opinions and concerns on paper.
Arends-Reyes emphasized that, despite the formalization on paper, the current context in the Parliament of Aruba reflects a continued opposition to the Rijkswet HOFA. According to the AVP leader, the unions’ position is evident and consistent, showing genuine and well-founded concern regarding the financial impact and the country’s autonomy.
The statement reinforces that the unions have taken their representative role seriously, ensuring that their voice is present in the process of public discussion and debate, and that their viewpoint is properly documented for reference in Parliament and the community.
