Red Cross Aruba Commemorates International Day and Invites Public to ‘Capes for a Cause’ Fundraising Gala

In celebration of International Red Cross Day, Red Cross Aruba is honoring its dedicated volunteers while issuing a special invitation to the community for its annual signature fundraiser, “Capes for a Cause.” The gala evening is set to take place on May 30, 2026, hosted at the Red Cross headquarters in Dakota.

The organization took the opportunity of its international day to express profound gratitude to the volunteers who commit themselves daily to the well-being of the Aruban community. Additionally, the Red Cross extended its thanks to all supporters, sponsors, and partners whose contributions make their humanitarian mission possible.

‘Capes for a Cause’ Event Details This year marks the third edition of “Capes for a Cause,” which will be held on the Red Cross premises at Pedro Gallego Straat 4, Dakota. The event will run from 7:00 PM to 1:00 AM, featuring a phenomenal atmosphere with live band performances and DJ Metropolis.

The primary objective of the evening is to raise funds to maintain and expand the organization’s social projects, which provide direct assistance to the island’s most vulnerable populations.

  • Barica y Curason Contento: An initiative providing meals to homeless individuals and those struggling with addiction in downtown Oranjestad.
  • Food Kitchen (San Nicolas): A project offering hot meals three times a week to individuals facing financial hardship.
  • Back to School Haircuts: Providing haircuts for children before the school year begins to boost their self-confidence.
  • Daily Social Assistance: Continuous support for families in need who seek daily aid from the Red Cross.
