The high season on Bonaire is starting again. The Public Entity of Bonaire (OLB) and Tourism Corporation Bonaire (TCB) ask all visitors to pay close attention when paying the tourist tax (the Visitor Entry Tax). Pay your Visitor Entry Tax only via the official website! Since July 1, 2022, all visitors who do not live on Bonaire must pay a Visitor Entry Tax of $75 before arriving on the island. Children up to 12 years old pay $10. This fee replaces the old taxes for hotels and car rentals.
Visitors should be careful of other websites seeking to collect this tax, the so-called resellers. These websites are not affiliated with OLB or TCB. They often charge much more money for the same thing. We have already shared a few times via news reports and social media how to pay this tax. The only correct website to pay the tax is https://tourismtax.bonairegov.com. You can click this link on the official website of the TCB https://www.bonaireIsland.com and on the airport website https://bonaireinternationalairport.com.
The KCPN Cyber Police has indicated that these reseller websites are not illegal. They offer this service as a private company. The OLB and TCB are not responsible for personal data given to these websites. We recommend that you use only the official website. This way you will avoid paying too much and your data will remain safe.
OLB and TCB urge all airlines, hotels, car rental companies and diving schools to provide their customers and guests with the correct website. In the confirmation to your customers and guests, provide them with the correct link to the official website and advise them to pay the Visitor Entry Tax online before arrival, so they already have a QR code as proof of payment. This helps visitors with quick access to the island and prevents them from paying too much for Bonaire’s Visitor Entry Tax.
