Horacio Oduber Hospital (HOH) shares monthly statistics for September 2025
The Horacio Oduber Hospital (HOH) continues to promote trust, transparency, and awareness by sharing its monthly statistics with the Aruban community.
The data for September 2025 provide insight into the number of hospital admissions, average length of stay, number of surgeries, diagnostic tests performed by the radiology department, and more.
HOH also aims to raise awareness about the number of patients who did not attend their scheduled specialist or radiology appointments.
During September 2025, a total of 851 patients were admitted to the hospital, of which 54.4% were emergency admissions.
The average hospital stay was 3.6 days, and the bed occupancy rate stood at 74%, lower than the 87.8% recorded in September 2024.
A total of 643 surgeries were performed — an increase compared to 579 surgeries in September 2024.
The Emergency Department treated 2,693 patients, and 68 babies were born during the month — 33 boys and 35 girls.
The Aruba Blood Bank reported 170 blood donations in September.
Hospital specialists conducted 7,512 consultations with patients. However, 1,239 patients (14%) missed their scheduled appointments.
Reasons for this vary: some patients forgot their appointments, faced transportation difficulties, were hospitalized, or failed to cancel in time.
The Radiology Department carried out 5,514 diagnostic tests (including CT scans, MRIs, and ultrasounds), while 91 patients did not show up for their scheduled procedures.
Meanwhile, the laboratory processed 16,012 test orders, and 872 patients were discharged from the hospital to continue recovery at home.
Every day, more than 1,200 HOH employees dedicate themselves to providing continuous, high-quality care to patients — the hospital’s top priority.
The hospital reminds the public:
“At all times, remember — HOH is always here for you.”
