Every great campaign begins with a simple idea and the dedication of one or more individuals. In this case, 131 Aruba took the initiative and invited S.V. Dakota to join a campaign in partnership with N.V. ELMAR, aimed at promoting awareness of children’s rights and mental health among Aruba’s youth. This initiative is called ‘Dakota in Blue’.

The ‘Dakota in Blue’ campaign highlights the importance of mental health, especially among young men, in light of international research showing that men often face more challenges in seeking help for mental health issues. This is a topic that S.V. Dakota holds close to its heart, for the well-being of its members and the wider community.

S.V. Dakota is a sports organization where about 200 boys and girls actively participate in sports. Since its founding in 1947, the club has traditionally played in yellow and black.

However, for the month of November 2025, S.V. Dakota will change its colors to blue. As part of the ‘Dakota in Blue’ campaign, both the Honor Division and U20 teams will play in blue uniforms, the official color representing children’s rights and N.V. ELMAR.

S.V. Dakota is proud to be part of this collaboration between 131 Aruba and N.V. ELMAR, working together to raise awareness across Aruba about mental health and, most importantly, where and how to seek help.

At the same time, S.V. Dakota congratulates 131 Aruba on its 26th anniversary of dedication to Aruba’s youth, and N.V. ELMAR on celebrating 75 years of lighting up Aruba.

S.V. Dakota expresses heartfelt gratitude to its sponsors — APEX, Fast Delivery Services, Café the Plaza, Gravenstijn-Marchena Attorneys at Law, Solid Solutions, Amast, PKF, Innova, Mr. Exhaust Repairs, Car Quest Auto Parts Aruba, and KIA — for believing in and investing in our youth. Together, we build a healthy and supportive environment for all.
