Bonaire stands in solidarity with Venezuela

Island Governor John Soliano, on behalf of the Public Entity Bonaire, expresses solidarity with the people of Venezuela, who have been struck by a devastating earthquake. “Our thoughts are with everyone affected by this disaster. Bonaire and Venezuela are neighbors in the Caribbean region and have been united for generations through family, cultural, and personal ties. Many residents of Bonaire are living in uncertainty regarding the whereabouts of their family and friends in Venezuela. It is precisely for this reason that Bonaire also suffers deeply due to this tragedy,” the governor declared. The governor is in close contact with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Kingdom of the Netherlands is closely monitoring developments, remains in tight cooperation with Venezuelan authorities, and is providing humanitarian aid where necessary. “We wish all rescue and aid workers lots of strength in their important work and hope that those who are missing are found as soon as possible. On behalf of Bonaire, I want to express my support and solidarity to the people of Venezuela and to the Venezuelan community in Bonaire.
