San Nicolas: Police make four arrests in shooting case

The San Nicolas detective department has achieved a significant breakthrough in the investigation related to the shooting that took place on Sunday, June 21, 2026, in front of Pacifico Restaurant. In the early hours of Friday morning, authorities made four arrests in connection with this incident.

The police operation, which was supported by the Arrest Team (Arrestatieteam), the K-9 Unit, and uniformed police from the San Nicolas district, took place on St. Maarten Street. The action is part of the ongoing investigation that detectives have been conducting since the event occurred.

The Incident
The case began on June 21, when around 3:55 p.m., the police central was alerted to a shooting near Pacifico Restaurant. According to preliminary information, the incident involved two vehicles: a blue Nissan March and a gray Toyota Altezza.

Upon the arrival of patrol units, the vehicles were no longer at the scene. However, during the inspection, police found bullet casings and impact marks, confirming that a shooting had taken place. Shortly after the event, police located the abandoned Toyota Altezza on Bonaire Street, which was seized for investigation purposes.

Arrests
Thanks to the investigative work of the San Nicolas detective department, three suspects were arrested in the early hours of Friday morning:

D.R., 27 years old, born in Aruba;

L.T.D., 23 years old, born in Aruba;

K.R., 18 years old, born in Aruba.

Later in the day, a fourth suspect, identified as 17-year-old M.P.Y., voluntarily presented himself at the San Nicolas police station to turn himself in, after being sought by authorities in connection with the same case.

The Aruba Police Force is committed to safety in the neighborhoods and is making an urgent appeal to the community. Anyone who has information, or who witnessed something related to this incident, is asked to contact the police tip line at 11141. This line guarantees total anonymity for the informant.
