On September 13th, a serious traffic accident occurred in which a young woman lost her life. Immediately following the accident, work began to determine exactly what happened. The Aruba Police Force initiated the investigation, which was later handed over to the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee (KMar), given military involvement.
The investigation is being conducted by the Marechaussee under the authority of a specialized prosecutor from the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Aruba. The Marechaussee, through their family liaison investigators, is in close contact with the victim’s family. The Public Prosecutor’s Office of Aruba maintains communication with their lawyer.
The investigation is in full swing. Among other actions, a traffic forensics team was brought to Aruba to conduct an investigation, specifically regarding the technical condition of the vehicle involved.
