The second day of the Aruba Open 2026 International Paintball Tournament is in full swing, marking a milestone for the sport in Aruba. Event coordinator for Hot Triggers Paintball, Indy Chang, highlighted that this competition serves as a true destination for international teams and a platform to elevate the skill level of local players.
The action kicked off with the 3-man format under Major League Paintball (NXL) rules, the most prestigious league in the world. This opening competition offers a unique opportunity for the winner:
• The Main Prize: An invitation spot for the World Cup in Kissimmee, Florida, in November of this year.
• Representing Aruba: If a local team secures first place, they will get the chance to compete in the Pro League and represent Aruba internationally.
“It is a huge opportunity for us and for the sport, because reaching the ‘Pro’ level is not easy. This event is more than a tournament; it is a ‘destination’ for international teams who get the chance to experience our island and play at a very high level,” expressed Indy Chang.
$12,000 in Cash Prizes for the Traditional Aruba Open The main competition continues on Saturday, September 26, and Sunday, September 27, with the traditional Aruba Open tournament. Thanks to the support of event partners and sponsors, an attractive prize purse was put together for top finishers:
• 1st Place: $7,000 cash
• 2nd Place: $3,500 cash
• 3rd Place: $1,500 cash
This incentive has attracted top-tier players, including overseas professionals competing across various teams, significantly raising the level of play.
Putting Aruba Back on the World Paintball Map Indy Chang recalled the golden age of the sport in the 2000s, when Aruba was one of the most visited and desired destinations for international paintball veterans.
The main goal of the Aruba Paintball Federation and Hot Triggers Paintball is to restore that prestige and make Aruba an annual gathering for the best teams in the world.
