Tourism Corporation Bonaire’s (TCB) “Bonaire
Ambassador Program” continues to grow, particularly among our visitors. This was
evident once again in September, when eight guests were honored as Bonaire
Ambassadors. Among these eight visitors were several who were receiving this
recognition for the first time.
In the bronze category, we honored David Lawrence from the United States, who
has been visiting Bonaire for 10 years. We asked David what makes Bonaire so
special to him, and he replied: “The beautiful diving spots the island has to offer and the friends I have made during the 10 years I’ve been visiting Bonaire.”
Fred and Denise Starner have been visiting Bonaire for 16 years and were
pleasantly surprised to receive recognition at the Van der Valk Plaza Resort. On this
occasion, they were presented with a silver pin.
Martin and Jenniffer Turley were also honored for their 23 years of visiting our island.
They received a gold pin from Ms. Valerie Trinidad of Habitat Bonaire.
The diving group “Eels on Wheels” visits Bonaire every year. Several of their
members also received recognition: Tamara Koleng, who has been visiting Bonaire
for 11 years; Jill Crocker, for 25 years; and Tammie Shelton, for 26 years. We
presented them with bronze and gold pins corresponding to the number of years
they have been visiting our island.
