On Thursday, October 1, the Directorate of Planning and Development held a meeting with architects, building designers, and other professionals regarding building regulations in Bonaire. The Directorate of Planning and Development is working on updating these regulations and wanted to hear about the questions and challenges professionals encounter in practice.
During a previous information session, participants expressed a need for greater clarity regarding building regulations. For this reason, the Directorate of Planning and Development organized a separate meeting focused on this topic. Participants were able to ask questions, discuss practical examples from their work, and point out which rules they believe require clarification or adjustment.
The Directorate of Planning and Development will incorporate the questions and points of attention gathered into the ongoing update of the building regulations. The directorate is also looking into ways to provide information about construction and permits in a clearer manner. In this regard, the Directorate of Planning and Development will remain in dialogue with sector professionals.
