From July 21 to 29, 2026, two inspectors from the Directorate of Supervision and Law Enforcement of the Public Entity Bonaire made a working visit to Saint Eustatius. Together with several inspectors from Saint Eustatius, they carried out various inspections and shared knowledge and expertise. In this way, the BES islands are working together on a strong, professional, and resilient execution for the future of supervision and law enforcement.
During the inspection week, the inspectors jointly conducted checks at various supermarkets, gas stations, and cargo locations, among other places. They checked food safety, correct measurement, and compliance with laws and regulations. Through this collaboration, they were able to perform more checks and provide better support to businesses regarding regulatory compliance.
Aside from the checks, the inspectors exchanged experiences and learned from each other’s working methods. This further strengthens the quality of supervision and law enforcement across the BES islands, ensuring they increasingly work according to the same system.
The Directorate of Supervision and Law Enforcement thanks the colleagues in Saint Eustatius for the warm welcome and pleasant collaboration. The personal and professional development of the employees within the Directorate is important, which is why employees are actively encouraged to further develop their knowledge, skills, and experience.
Collaboration and knowledge exchange with colleagues on the other BES islands contribute to this, building further upon a solid foundation for future cooperation between Bonaire, Saint Eustatius, and Saba.
