The first week after Easter, from December 15, several public meetings took place in the Parliament of Aruba. Parliamentarian Endy Croes pointed out that the Parliament of Aruba is the highest organ of the country. For this reason, a minister has a “duty” to be transparent and answer all questions posed by parliamentarians so that Parliament can properly perform its role of overseeing the government.
A minister who avoids Parliament of Aruba becomes an unreliable minister, and in any decent country would normally be required to step down. This is demonstrated by the fact that three ministers directly contradicted Gerlien Croes during the meetings of December 15–17, proving that Gerlien Croes “won” over both Parliament and the people.
Gerlien Croes refuses to answer Parliament:
All MEP parliamentarians, from Monday, December 15, during the public meetings, asked Gerlien Croes about her private jet trip: How much did you pay? To whom did you pay? And how did you pay? These are three basic and easy questions to answer if, in fact, payment was made.
On Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, Gerlien kept avoiding these questions and never answered Parliament. Her only response was that “a few hundred florins I personally paid is a minor issue in Parliament.”
Since the end of November, several parliamentarians had sent written questions to Minister Gerlien about her trip to Curaçao on November 19 in a private jet. Gerlien never answered, forcing the questions to be asked publicly in the meetings, which is the full right of a parliamentarian. Unfortunately, Gerlien Croes chose NOT to answer and opted to avoid Parliament.
Gerlien Croes goes down in history as a liar:
Parliament has concluded that Gerlien Croes “won,” as three ministers effectively left her exposed, underlining that she is indeed a winner. Gerlien Croes first told Parliament publicly that she had answered their questions in writing in the “NAV.” The NAV (Nota naar aanleiding van het Verslag) is an official document where the government answers Parliament’s questions about a law or regulation.
Parliamentarian Rocco Tjon asked this specific question to Minister Geoffrey Wever regarding how the MEP faction concluded that Gerlien Croes “won” and wanted confirmation from another minister. Minister Geoffrey Wever publicly reconfirmed literally: “No, Mr. President, her answers regarding how much, to whom, and how Gerlien paid DO NOT appear and are NOT in the NAV.” Here, Geoffrey was honest with Parliament, showing that Gerlien Croes did not win and should have answered truthfully. Strike 1: Geoffrey confirmed that Gerlien Croes “won.”
Minister Wendrick Cecilia exposes Gerlien Croes: Strike 2
From Monday, questions were asked to Wendrick Cecilia about whether a private jet can have an AOC (Air Operator Certificate). Only commercial aircraft receive an AOC, allowing them to charge clients for transport. In Aruba, a private jet does NOT get an AOC, meaning it cannot charge a passenger. Despite this, Gerlien claimed she paid a few hundred florins to fly on a private jet. After three days, pressured by the MEP faction and armed with the correct information, Wendrick Cecilia finally clarified on the evening of Wednesday, December 17: “No, the private jet that Gerlien flew does NOT have an AOC and cannot charge passengers.” This confirms that Gerlien Croes misled Parliament. Strike 2: Wendrick Cecilia confirms Gerlien Croes “won.”
Mike Eman also exposes Gerlien Croes: Strike 3
During the same public meetings, MEP asked Mike Eman if, according to the Ministerial Code of Conduct, a minister must report a gift, such as receiving a trip on a private jet. Mike Eman also answered that NO, Minister Gerlien Croes never reported a gift. This further highlights Gerlien’s character as a pathological liar, who seems to believe the Parliament of Aruba should be treated like the “wild west” or bandits. It is now clearly proven that Gerlien Croes misled both Parliament and the people of Aruba.
This story does not end here. At the beginning of 2026, deeper investigations into this matter will continue, not only locally but also internationally ,Parliamentarian Endy Croes indicated
