Parliamentarian Mike de Meza sees a lack of political unity for Aruba

The exception to the LNT law contradicts what the Dutch government itself demanded from Aruba in 2022: reduce spending and limit all director salaries. Yet today, the same Dutch party that demanded this says an exception can be made because a Dutch national is coming to work in Aruba. According to parliamentarian Mike de Meza, this is the kind of practice we should not accept. This is a preview of what the HOFA National Law could mean in Aruba, where the Dutch would manage and decide on Aruba’s finances, something that Minister Geoffrey Wever, Minister Gerlien Croes, and Minister Mike Eman would hand over to the Netherlands – an unacceptable act.
