The Public Entity of Bonaire, Streefkerk Architects & Consultants, and Caribische Onderwater Werken signed an agreement for the maintenance of the Fishermen’s Pier at Playa Pabou. With this step, the preparation phase of the project has officially begun. This marks the execution of the long-awaited maintenance of the Fishermen’s Pier, for which the community has been requesting attention for quite some time.
In the first phase, the necessary preparations are being made. High-quality materials are being ordered to ensure that the pier is restored in a solid, safe, and durable manner. By selecting appropriate materials, efforts are being made to achieve a long-lasting solution that is resistant to marine conditions.
The fishermen of Bonaire form an important component of our community. They contribute to our local economy and are part of our culture and traditions. The pier is their workplace. For this reason, it is important that it remains in a stable and safe condition.
As soon as all materials are available, the maintenance work will begin. The work will be carried out in different phases. This means that the pier will not be completely closed. In this way, the fishermen can continue their work and daily activities.
