Arrests for domestic abuse
On Monday, January 5, around 2:50 a.m., a 50-year-old man with initials C.R.I.M. was arrested at Sorobon Beach for domestic abuse. During the search of the suspect, several bags containing substances suspected to be narcotics were found and confiscated.
On Sunday, January 4, around 12:05 a.m., a 49-year-old man with initials C.V.B. was arrested on Fidelia Street for domestic abuse.
Both cases are under investigation.
Vehicle confiscated after ignoring police stop signal
On Sunday, January 4, around 9:15 p.m., a driver on Japura Street ignored a police signal to stop. The vehicle was traveling at high speed and had no front license plate. The driver then drove into the yard of a residence on Juruena Street and refused to show his documents. For this reason, the vehicle was confiscated. When the driver later presented himself at the police station with valid documents to retrieve his car, he also received a fine.
Burglary at a school
On Saturday, January 3, a report was filed regarding a burglary at a school on Frater Odulfinus Street. Unknown individuals gained access to the building and stole a safe containing an amount of cash. The case is under investigation.
Theft from a vehicle
On Friday, January 2, a report was filed regarding theft from a vehicle parked on Gresia Street. Unknown individuals removed a Pioneer car radio and a USB stick from the dashboard of the vehicle. The case is under investigation.
Arrest for driving under the influence of alcohol
On Friday, January 2, around 3:05 a.m., a 59-year-old man with initials J.F.E.J. was arrested on J.N.E. Craane Street for driving under the influence of alcohol. After police stopped the suspect for a routine check, they detected an odor of substances suspected to be narcotics. A search of the vehicle revealed a bag containing substances suspected to be narcotics in the suspect’s possession, which were confiscated. Because the suspect showed several signs of alcohol intoxication, a breathalyzer test was conducted. He tested above the legal limit and received a one-hour driving prohibition.
