Change of the guard at kòrsou transparente: Alex Rosaria New Chairman

Alex Rosaria

Alex Rosaria has been appointed as the chairman of the board of Fundashon Kòrsou Transparente. He succeeds Michael Hernandez, who played a decisive role in the development of the foundation.

Kòrsou Transparente emerged from a citizen initiative following the 2013 investigation by Transparency International (TI) into Curaçao’s vulnerabilities to corruption. One of the foundation’s core focus areas is raising awareness among citizens to stand up for their right to an honest and ethical Curaçao. Integrity, transparency, and the fight against corruption form the heart of Kòrsou Transparente’s mission.

Outgoing chairman Michael Hernandez has made an invaluable contribution to the growth and professionalization of the foundation. Under his leadership, awareness of the importance of transparency in society has increased significantly. Hernandez will now join the Advisory Board of Kòrsou Transparente.

The new chairman, Alex Rosaria, stated that he is honored to take on the chairmanship. Rosaria is currently evaluating development projects in Asia and the Pacific. Additionally, he is a fellow at the Caribbean Policy Consortium and active in working groups of Global Americans. His career in the public and international sectors includes positions such as Member of Parliament, Minister of Economic and Labor Affairs, and State Secretary of Finance. Previously, he worked for the UN Development Programme, the UN Industrial Development Organization, UN-Habitat, and the UN Office on Drugs and Crime in Africa and Central America.

In July, Kòrsou Transparente will meet for a strategic session to establish its multi-year planning. Kòrsou Transparente is delighted that a person with Rosaria’s expertise and experience has been found willing to take on the chairmanship.
