National action to clean Aruba On Saturday, July 25, 2026, the Government of Aruba will organize the major national action to clean Aruba during the “Day to Care for Aruba.” Prime Minister Mike Eman invites every citizen, business, organization, sports club, NGO, and neighborhood center to join forces and contribute to a cleaner, more beautiful, and healthier Aruba. The initiative was announced during the “Neighborhood Action” in Mabon, where Prime Minister Eman, along with various services and organizations, walked through the neighborhood to address community needs and carry out cleaning work. Among those present were Serlimar, City Inspector, DOW, GKMBS, the Department of Social Affairs, the Ministry of Tourism, Transport, and Labor, as well as various other government departments.

Private sector also assumes responsibility The Employers’ Association of the Aruban Construction Industry (WAB) confirmed its support for the initiative. Mr. Gerco Rijkers, General Manager of Algemeen Bouwbedrijf ALBO Aruba N.V. and President of WAB, indicated that WAB supports the initiative and will provide its contribution in Mabon. He invited other companies to register and contribute with their personnel and resources in other neighborhoods or areas of Aruba during the national cleanup day. Prime Minister Eman thanked Mr. Rijkers and WAB for their commitment, emphasizing that the participation of the private sector sends an important signal: the challenge of keeping Aruba clean is a shared responsibility between the Government, commerce, and the community.

A clean island is important for the people and tourism MP Otami Thomasia pointed out that keeping Aruba clean is essential for both the well-being of the community and the image of our island as a tourist destination. Trash in neighborhoods and public areas not only affects the quality of life but also nature and the impression visitors have of Aruba. Mrs. Sonali Acosta, representing the Ministry of Tourism, congratulated the initiative and invited everyone to participate, whether by cleaning in front of their homes, adopting an area, or organizing an action in their own neighborhood.

All of Aruba can participate During the action on July 25, every organization, business, or group of citizens can choose a specific site to clean, such as a neighborhood, street, home/business surroundings, community center, sports club, beach, or public area. Prime Minister Eman called on the entire community to bring family, colleagues, and organization members together, choose a place, and get to work. “Aruba belongs to all of us. If every citizen, business, and organization adopts an area, together we can make Aruba completely clean and, even more importantly, keep it clean,” Prime Minister Eman stated.
