Aruba Airport Authority N.V. (AAA) is proud to announce the release of its Annual Report for the year 2024, showcasing the organization’s continued progress towards operational excellence, sustainability, and its role as a vital contributor to Aruba’s economy and community.

In 2024, AAA reaffirmed its vision of becoming a leading airport in the Caribbean, committed to delivering exceptional service and fostering sustainable growth for Aruba. Guided by our four strategic pillar – operational excellence, customer experience, sustainability, and community engagement – we have taken measurable steps to align our operations with long-term objectives and stakeholder expectations.

This year’s Annual Report maintains the improved format introduced in 2023, offering an even more streamlined and transparent account of our accomplishments and strategic direction. This approach underscores AAA’s commitment to accountability, transparency, and stakeholder trust.

Some key highlights of 2024 – the busiest year yet in the airport’s history – were:

  • Over 3.2 million passengers traveled to and from AUA Airport, representing a 14% year-on-year increase and further solidifying our position as a key regional gateway.
  • AUA Airport serviced 25 airlines and more than 45 direct routes, including new destinations and new airline partners, expanding Aruba’s global connectivity.
  • Passenger satisfaction remained high with experience ratings reaching 4.11 and 3.98 respectively (on a 5-point scale), demonstrating our consistent focus on quality and service.

Key challenges in 2024 included preparing for the DCAA recertification audit under the new AUA-AGA aviation law and addressing findings from the 2023 audit through multiple Corrective Action Plans. Additionally, an HVAC system failure in August led to a one-day airport shutdown, prompting the development of robust Business Continuity and maintenance plans to prevent future disruption.

Throughout 2024, AAA teams worked diligently in close collaboration with the Project Management Office (PMO) and various subcontractors of the Gateway 2030 Project to ensure the successful completion of Phase 1A. Their collective efforts have positioned the project to become fully operational in 2025.

AAA maintained its Green Globe Certification and successfully retained Level 3 accreditation in the ACI Airport Carbon Accreditation program, reinforcing our commitment to sustainable airport operations.

In our second full year of in-house General Aviation (FBO) operations, we achieved operational and service milestones that set a new benchmark for private aviation services at AUA Airport.

Interim Management Team of AAA: “Reflecting on 2024, we are proud of what our team and stakeholders have accomplished together. These achievements are a testament to our collective commitment to excellence, sustainability, and community impact. Our sincere gratitude goes to all AAA team members and our partners in the aviation and tourism ecosystem. As we continue our journey, we remain steadfast in our goal to position AUA Airport as the premier airport in the Caribbean.”

Alongside the Annual Report, AAA has released its 2024 Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Report, which dives deeper into our sustainability initiatives, community involvement, and ethical business practices.

We invite all stakeholders, partners, and members of the Aruban community to explore both the Annual Report and the CSR Report 2024, available now at: https://www.airportaruba.com/annual-reports
