COA Holds Annual General Assembly with Member Federations

Dsc07271 1

The Comité Olímpico Arubano (COA) convened its second general assembly of the year at the Holiday Inn Resort Aruba Beach Resort & Casino. Key topics included the 2026 management plan and budget, as well as the approval of updated statutes. These statutes, initially revised and approved in the April extraordinary assembly, have now received full approval from the International Olympic Committee (IOC). Once notarized, this marks the final step to make them fully legal.

President Wanda Broeksema opened the meeting, followed by Secretary General Nicole Hoevertsz, who presented the 2026 strategic framework, development plans, and overall COA finances. Technical Director Monica Fajardo detailed upcoming updates for 2026, aimed at streamlining processes with member federations and supporting participation in four different international competitions. Operations Director Jonathan Wever outlined plans for communication, events, and general operations for the coming year.

All agenda points were approved, reflecting strong support from member federations and confidence in COA’s ongoing efforts to promote sports development in Aruba.
