Member of Parliament Rocco Tjon, on behalf of the MEP faction, officially requested an urgent “question hour” on Monday, December 1, from the President of Parliament regarding the controversial private jet trip taken by Minister Gerlien Croes. In an interview, Minister Croes claimed that she personally paid for the trip, but up to now she has provided no evidence to support this claim.
This lack of transparency is undermining public trust in the government and placing the integrity of our system at risk. For this reason, Tjon has submitted 36 written questions to the minister seeking clarity on the matter. According to Tjon, this situation is extremely serious, and Parliament must demand accountability from the minister immediately.
“Aruba has worked for many years to establish good governance. This type of behavior by Minister Gerlien Croes puts all those efforts in danger. The minister must provide full transparency right now.”
If Minister Gerlien Croes has nothing to hide, then she should be able to submit all documents without any problem and clarify this situation once and for all.
