Pedestrian hit by van
On Wednesday, October 29, around 6:50 PM, the central control room received a report of an accident on Governor N. Debrot Boulevard near Sabadeco. The incident involved a van and a pedestrian.

Upon arrival, police found ambulance personnel attending to the victim. The van’s driver had been traveling southbound and was reportedly momentarily blinded by another vehicle. As a result, he struck the victim, who then fell into the roadside vegetation. The victim was a woman walking together with others.

Following standard procedure, the “botsen is blazen” (breath test) was administered to the van driver, yielding a negative result. The ambulance transported the victim urgently to the hospital for medical treatment.

Theft from golf carts
On Wednesday, October 29, a case of theft was reported involving a golf cart parked at “Te Amo Beach,” located on Kaya Internashonal. Unknown individuals stole two bags belonging to children while the occupants were swimming. The bags contained, among other things, children’s care products, a wallet with cash, and cards.

That same day, another theft was reported from a golf cart parked at the diving site “1000 Steps” on Kaminda Turístiko. Between 10:15 and 10:30 in the morning, unknown individuals stole two backpacks while the occupants had walked to and returned from the site. The stolen items included a pink “The North Face” backpack and a dark blue Nike bag. The bags contained, among other things, wallets with cash, cards, and towels.

The cases are under investigation.

Judicial searches and arrests
In the morning hours of Tuesday, October 28, the Caribbean Netherlands Police Force (KPCN) carried out two judicial searches in connection with a burglary that took place on Monday, October 27, at a tourist accommodation located on E.E.G. Boulevard.

The searches were conducted at a house on Kaya Karañito and another on Kaya Monseigneur Nieuwindt. During the searches, a firearm and a quantity of a substance suspected to be narcotics were seized. In the vicinity of one of the residences, police also found several items likely linked to theft.

Two men were arrested in connection with the case: O.F.R.T., aged 19, and R.M.G., aged 20.
The investigation is ongoing.

Arrest for assault
On Tuesday, October 28, around 7:45 AM, a man with the initials J.S.C.L. was arrested at a residence on Kaya Vivaldi. The arrest was part of an ongoing investigation into an assault case that occurred on the night of Sunday, October 5. The suspect was arrested on charges of assault and making threats. The investigation continues.

Vehicle on fire
On Monday, October 27, around 12:40 PM, the central control room received a report of a vehicle on fire in the parking area of a business on Kaya Amsterdam. At the location, police found a pickup truck in flames. The fire department arrived on the scene and extinguished the fire. No injuries were reported.
