Darlaine Guedez-Erasmus (MEP): Now people can climb Hooiberg more safely

Parlamentario Darlaine Guedez Erasmus

Recently Minister Dangui Oduber announced the realization of the motion to build a support hand on the steps of Hooiberg. During the public meeting on November 24, 2022 the Parliament of Aruba, discussed the budget for the year 2022 of the Tourism Product Enhancement Fund (TPEF). TPEF is a fund established to raise Aruba’s tourism product, including the Hooiberg fertilizer project.

During this meeting I personally submitted a motion regarding the Hooiberg project, where I asked the Government of Aruba to build a supporting hand. In this way our local and adult tourists will be able to climb the Hooiberg more safely. We can see this site as a tourist attraction but also a place, especially under our premises, for physical activity. In this way everyone can participate and enjoy nature on the Hooiberg mountain. Because Hooiberg is undoubtedly an icon.

I would like to thank Minister Dangui Oduber for his attention to my motion and the realization of the support hand on the Hooiberg staircase, which was indeed very beautiful. I’m also happy to see the positive reaction of the people to this realization, because as the commentary goes, “Today IF I can climb Mount Hooiberg”.
