The Stingray Swimming Team is very proud to announce another major achievement by its elite athlete Elisabeth Timmer, who started the year 2026 with a strong performance on the international stage. Elisabeth achieved excellent results at the Schwimm Meeting Nettebad 2026 in Osnabrück, Germany.
Although this was her first competition of the year, without a full taper and without recent preparation in an Olympic pool (50m), Elisabeth demonstrated a high level of consistency and determination. She managed to win three medals and set one new National Record for Aruba.
- Bronze medal in the 50-meter backstroke with a time of 30.12, which is a new National Record. Elisabeth broke her own previous national record (30.30), thereby establishing a new record for Aruba in this event.
- Silver medal in the 50-meter freestyle with a time of 26.30.
- Silver medal in the 100-meter freestyle with a time of 57.19.
Although the time in the 100-meter freestyle is not yet a national record, Elisabeth’s result confirms her strong competitive level and solid preparation for the upcoming season.
These results clearly show that Elisabeth is maintaining both her physical and mental form, even without specific peak preparation. Her professionalism, discipline, and focus continue to elevate the level of Aruban swimming.
The entire Stingray Swimming Team family is extremely proud of their athlete and the way she represents Aruba with excellence, perseverance, and sporting ambition. This is only the beginning of the 2026 season, with many more competitions, goals, and achievements still to come.
