Elderly man becomes unwell behind the wheel and passes away on de la sallestraat

Shortly before noon at 11:54 a.m., Central Dispatch was notified of an accident on De La Sallestraat where an elderly man became unwell while driving, lost control, and was not responding.

Police and an ambulance were dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, police officers found the driver inside the vehicle and he was unresponsive.

Paramedics arrived and provided medical assistance to the driver, but unfortunately there was nothing more that could be done.

Dr. Voskuil arrived at the scene and officially pronounced Orlando Edmund Lo-Fo-Sang, born in Suriname on September 10, 1951 (74 years old), deceased.

The incident is not being classified as a traffic fatality, as the driver passed away due to a medical condition and not as a result of the traffic accident.

The Police Corps extends its condolences to the family of the deceased.
