Man Who Drugged and Raped 15-Year-Old Girl Sentenced to 4 Years in Prison

Corte De Aruba

This morning, the man S. (32) appeared before the Judge to hear his sentence in the criminal case brought against him by the Public Prosecutor’s Office. It is understood that the Prosecutor demanded 4 years and 6 months in prison, but the Judge reduced the sentence to make it possible for S. to receive guidance from the Probation Service (Reclasering).

Prosecutor Demanded 4 Years and 6 Months in Prison
Three weeks ago, the hearing of the case took place, in which S. is accused of drugging and raping a young female, M. (15), and committing immoral acts with her. This occurred on February 27, 2025.

The Prosecutor told the Judge that M. stated the man S. repeatedly gave her alcoholic beverages. Later, after they dropped the other man (also named S.) off at home, S. continued to give her drinks, and she blacked out. When she woke up, she was in an apartment and felt pain because S. was penetrating her with his finger. According to M., she fought with S. and suffered an injury to her leg. The Prosecutor found M.’s statement reliable. He told the Judge that S. admitted to having sexual relations with M. The Prosecutor pointed out that the other man S. stated that S. had bought a bottle of hard liquor for them to drink. The Prosecutor found that there was sufficient corroborating evidence. He also pointed out that an investigation conducted at Insam showed that M. had been raped. The Prosecutor noted that S. himself admitted that when he had relations with M., M. started to cry. The Prosecutor found S. guilty of rape and immoral acts. He concluded that S. drugged M. in order to abuse her. The Prosecutor remarked that despite the other man S. telling S. that M. was only 15 years old, S. planned to give M. drinks to abuse her. The Prosecutor found that S. violated M.’s integrity. The Prosecutor demanded 54 months (4 years and 6 months) in prison, of which 6 months are suspended with a 3-year probation period.

Guilty of Drugging and Raping a Child
This morning, the Judge stated that it is legally proven that on February 27, 2025, S. raped the 15-year-old girl M., committed immoral acts with her, and drugged her.

The Judge stated that the girl M. told the Police she was given alcohol by S. and blacked out. When she woke up, she found herself in a room and that S. was penetrating her. Afterward, S. took M. home.

M. went to Insam in San Nicolas, and a doctor established that M. was crying and had an injury on her knee. M. said she got this from struggling with S.

The Judge stated that S. penetrated M. with a finger and had sexual intercourse with the child. He pointed out that S. himself admitted to having sexual intercourse with M.

Sentence of 4 Years in Prison
Regarding the punishment, the Judge said he took into account that S. gave the child alcohol to drink and, when the child blacked out, had intercourse with her.

The Judge stated that S. violated the child’s integrity, which will affect her for a long time.

The Judge remarked that this is not the first time S. has crossed paths with justice for something like this.

The Judge said he took into account the report from the Probation Service, which deemed that S. needs guidance for what he did. The Judge explained that according to the law, the sentence demanded by the Prosecutor (4 years and 6 months in prison) does not leave room for S. to receive guidance from the Probation Service.

Therefore, the Judge decided to sentence S. to a punishment that does create space for the Probation Service to work with him.

The Judge sentenced S. to 4 years in prison, of which 6 months are suspended with a 3-year probation period. During the probation period, S. will be under the supervision of the Probation Service, which will guide S. so that he does not commit this crime again.
