House Without Rules Produces Undisciplined Children

Pastor Marcel Balootje 1

No matter how many institutions exist worldwide to defend children’s rights, parents must still set rules in their own homes.

Rules are not meant to punish or discriminate, but to sow good upbringing and discipline in every household.

How is it possible for a child and a parent to argue using foul language?

How is it possible for a child to say they are going out without asking their parents’ permission?

How is it possible for a child to demand new school supplies when their current ones are fine?

How is it possible for a child to demand designer jeans to go to school?

How is it possible for a child to demand a phone more modern than the one they currently have?

How is it possible for a child to rebel against their parents because they aren’t allowed out late at night?

How is it possible for a child to go to a party without their parents knowing where it is?

How is it possible for a child to come home drunk and want to fight with their parent?

How is it possible for a child to complain that food isn’t ready when they arrive from school?

How is it possible for a child to refuse to eat what is at home and demand fast food?

How is it possible for a child to refuse to sweep the house or wash dishes?

How is it possible for a child to refuse to keep their bedroom clean?

How is it possible for a child not to be able to wash their own clothes?

How is it possible for a child not to like bathing or maintaining hygiene?

When a child is ill-mannered, they reject even their own home.

Let’s look at the other side:
How is it possible for a parent to drink away all their money and fail in their duty to provide for their child?

How is it possible for a father to have multiple women while his own children go without necessities?

How is it possible for a father to buy a car for his mistress while he cannot buy a laptop for his child?

How is it possible for alcohol and drugs to be more important than family?

How is it possible for partying and enjoying life to be an obstacle to raising children?

How is it possible for school money to be gambled away?

How is it possible that within a home, a mother and child or a father and child manipulate each other for money?

Everything gets out of hand when there are no rules, no respect, no forgiveness, and above all, no fear of God in a home. Because in that situation, the parent has no control, and where there is no control and no correction, there is no discipline.

Order comes from God, because God is a God of order.

God’s house is a place of order.

The pulpit must be respected.

Fasting and prayer must be the pillars of the church.

Deliverance must be active in the church.

Holy Communion must take place.

An account must be given to God and to the congregation.

We must return to our first love and do what God commanded.

“The rod and reproof give wisdom, but a child left to himself brings shame to his mother.”

— Proverbs 29:15

Do not let money and material things dominate the home, because when there are no rules, shame lurks behind the door, and sorrow will come to the parent.

Where Christ Jesus is in first place, there will always be order and respect.

Sincerely,

Pastor Marcel Balootje
