While many athletes dream of competing at the highest level, Mikel Schreuders, another pride of the Stingray Swimming Team, continues to demonstrate that discipline, perseverance, and excellence produce extraordinary results. During the prestigious TYR Pro Swim Series 2026 in Indianapolis, one of the toughest competitions in the United States, Mikel delivered an outstanding performance in the 100-Meter Breaststroke event.
After clocking a time of 1:02.29 in the preliminaries, Mikel raised his level in the finals and touched the wall with an impressive 1:01.70, shaving off nearly six-tenths of a second from his initial time.
A New National Record for Aruba
Breaking a National Record is not just a personal achievement. It is a reflection of years of commitment, training, and the constant pursuit of excellence. Mikel continues to inspire not only the next generation of Aruban swimmers but also every athlete who dreams big. In a highly competitive field filled with international and world-class athletes, Mikel confirmed once again that Aruba has the talent to compete among the best.
The Stingray DNA
At Stingray Swimming Team, we believe that excellence is not an event; it is a culture. Mikel’s achievement represents the values that Stingray fosters every day, just as in the case of Elisabeth Timmer: Discipline – Perseverance – Professionalism, and a Passion for excellence. From children with a dream to the commitment required to be an Olympic athlete, Stingray remains dedicated to developing sportspeople who can represent Aruba with pride on the international stage.
Pride of Stingray and Aruba
Mikel Schreuders continues to write his name in the history of Aruban sports, demonstrating that with hard work, consistency, and determination, there are no limits to what an Aruban athlete can achieve. Your achievement is a victory for Aruba, an inspiration for our young swimmers, and another chapter of excellence in the history of the Stingray Swimming Team. The entire Stingray Swimming Team family is extremely proud of this achievement, and there is surely more to come.
