Aruba Hospitality & Security Foundation (AH&SF) Hosts International TRVA Workshop Delivered by The Chameleon Group

Trva Workshop 1

Public-private security initiative brings together Justice Department representatives and
hotel and tourism-related entities for specialized Threat, Risk and Vulnerability
Assessment training.

The Aruba Hospitality & Security Foundation (AH&SF) hosted
an intensive Threat, Risk and Vulnerability Assessment (TRVA) Workshop on October 22–
23, 2026, delivered by The Chameleon Group, an international security consulting and training
firm with decades of experience providing security services and training around the world.
Hosted by AH&SF, the two-day workshop represented an important public-private partnership,
bringing together representatives from the Justice Department and hotel and tourism-related
entities. The initiative created an opportunity for stakeholders across both sectors to strengthen
collaboration and develop a shared understanding of security preparedness, threat recognition,
risk, and vulnerability assessment.
Security Through the Eyes of the Adversary
The TRVA workshop in Aruba was delivered by international security experts, applying The
Chameleon Group’s approach to proactive security and its methodology based on principles of
the Israeli Security Model.
Central to the methodology is the concept of examining security through the eyes of the
adversary. Rather than evaluating an environment only from the perspective of those
responsible for protecting it, the methodology shifts the perspective to consider how a potential
adversary may view that same environment.
This adversary-focused approach encourages participants to critically examine physical
environments, security measures, procedures, and human factors with an emphasis on
identifying vulnerabilities that may otherwise be overlooked. The purpose is to move beyond a
primarily reactive security posture and develop a more proactive approach centered on
recognizing and mitigating risk.
This philosophy is consistent with The Chameleon Group’s longstanding focus on proactive
security. The company’s history includes the development of its Predictive Profiling methodology
in 2003 and the launch of its Security Quality Assurance Services, including Red Teaming in
2014.

Understanding Threat, Risk and Vulnerability
The TRVA methodology focuses on examining threat, risk, and vulnerability as interconnected
elements of the security environment.
The approach emphasizes looking beyond security measures that are already in place and
developing greater awareness of potential vulnerabilities. By applying an adversarial
perspective, participants are encouraged to challenge assumptions, recognize weaknesses, and
consider security from viewpoints that may differ significantly from the organization’s everyday
operational perspective.
At the heart of the methodology is a straightforward security principle: See what the adversary
sees. Identify vulnerabilities before they can be exploited. Use that understanding to
strengthen security and preparedness.
Strengthening Public-Private Security Cooperation in Aruba

The participation of representatives from the Justice Department alongside hotel and tourism-
related entities highlighted the importance of cooperation between Aruba’s public and private

sectors.
Bringing these stakeholders together through AH&SF provided a common platform for security
awareness and for developing a shared approach to recognizing threats, assessing
vulnerabilities, and understanding risk.
The workshop also brought an international perspective to the local environment. The
Chameleon Group’s international experience, combined with AH&SF’s role in convening Aruba’s
public and private stakeholders, created an opportunity to connect global security expertise with
local knowledge and cross-sector cooperation.
The October 22–23 workshop reinforced a common objective: strengthening security
awareness, preparedness and resilience through education, collaboration, and proactive
security thinking.
