On Friday, November 28, Filomena College MAVO organized an informative morning for the students of Ciclo Avansa 1 and 2. During this educational session, various institutions and professionals gave presentations and guidance on careers and future study choices.
Institutions that contributed and shared their time and expertise included:
The Coast Guard represented by Mr. M. Gonzalez Perret, Arumil represented by Lieutenant Jean Louis Peterson, Xavier University Aruba, the Police Academy (KPA), Dr. Edwin Leyba, social workers Mrs. Miriam Illidge and Mrs. Zahira Peterson, lawyer Mr. Demis Illis, ICT specialist Joseph Winterdal, ATA Derchlien Dijkhoff, A&T Marketing Mrs. Ann Nicolle Thijsen, Victim Support Mrs. Janine Rodriguez, and entrepreneur Mr. Omar-Steve Lejuez.
It was very interesting, beautiful to see, and inspiring to experience that some of the speakers were former students of Filomena College MAVO who are now professionals and returned to their former school to inspire and guide the new generation. Besides career orientation, students also received valuable life messages to help them make good choices for their future.
