Carnival is in full swing this weekend on Saba, the smallest island of the BES

Carnaval Ta Den Pleno Desaroyo E Weekend Aki Na Saba E Isla Mas Chikito Di Bes

A week after the carnival celebrations on the neighboring island of St. Eustatius, the carnival is being celebrated this weekend on BES’s smallest island, Saba. Divided into four groups, the carnival participants paraded through the capital’s main street, The Bottom, last Saturday. Although the parade is smaller than the carnival on neighboring islands, the participants always have a lot of fun.

A notable aspect this year was the representation of different ethnic groups in the parade, including members of the relatively large Colombian and Filipino immigrant communities. Some enthusiasm for the carnival of St. Eustatius also participated to live the carnival experience in Saba As the platform reporter BES indicated. Photo provided by Voltaire Simmons.
