The Department of Elderly Affairs (DOZ) is responsible for matters related to senior citizens. An important part of this responsibility is ensuring the quality of care that elderly individuals receive.
To continue improving the level of care provided by staff working in elderly care homes, the DOZ partnered with the Horacio Oduber Hospital Academy (HOH Academy) to enhance the knowledge and skills of care personnel. In this way, DOZ is working to strengthen and elevate the quality of elderly care in Aruba.
During the month of October, the Department of Elderly Affairs (DOZ) and the HOH Academy jointly organized a seminar on how to deal with verbal aggression. Instructors from the HOH Academy delivered the training to a total of 44 participants currently employed in elderly care homes. During the seminar, participants received valuable information that they could immediately apply in their daily work.
The DOZ extends its gratitude to the HOH Academy for their cooperation in organizing this session. This was yet another example of successful collaboration between DOZ and HOH Academy, working together to continuously improve the knowledge and skills of those who provide care in Aruba’s elderly homes.
