The Union of Aruban Cultural Organizations (UNOCA) will have a new director. Raquel Lampe will officially assume the position of director of UNOCA starting September 1st, 2026.
The announcement follows UNOCA’s celebration of its 40th anniversary on June 25th, 2026, marking four decades of commitment to the promotion and development of culture in Aruba. On June 30th, 2026, the board of directors of UNOCA, alongside the staff of UNOCA and the School of Art (Scol di Arte), extended an official welcome to Raquel Lampe and expressed their best wishes for success in this new challenge. With this appointment, UNOCA looks forward with confidence to continuing its work with the cultural sector and strengthening its support for our artists and cultural organizations in Aruba.
Raquel Lampe is a professional with many years of experience in the educational, cultural, and community development sectors in Aruba. She currently holds the position of director at Filomena College MAVO, where she has contributed significantly to the strengthening of education, innovation, and the development of our youth. In addition to her career in education, Raquel Lampe is widely recognized for her commitment to Aruban art and culture. She has participated in various cultural projects, artistic events, and community initiatives, serving as a master of ceremonies, project coordinator, and collaborator with several cultural organizations. With a leadership style based on communication, collaboration, and innovation, Raquel Lampe is dedicated to the development of education, culture, and the well-being of our community. From September 1st, she will continue this commitment in her new role as director of UNOCA.
The Union of Aruban Cultural Organizations (UNOCA) is the organization responsible for managing the Cultural Fund of Aruba. Since its founding, UNOCA has played a vital role in stimulating cultural development, providing financial support to cultural projects and initiatives, and promoting the growth of art, heritage, and creativity on our island.
