A significant moment recently took place between the sister islands of Aruba, Bonaire and Curaçao, as a new agreement was signed to extend the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the Interinsular Games by another four years.

In 2022, government leaders of Aruba, Bonaire and Curaçao signed the first MoU on Bonaire for a duration of three years, which has now expired. These were three very fruitful and successful years for many young athletes from all three islands.

The first three sports of the upcoming Interinsular Games will begin in February 2026 on Bonaire. Curaçao will then serve as host island next, and in March the Games will conclude on Aruba.

Special thanks go to Commissioner Peter Silberie, Minister Sithree van Heydoorn and Minister Gerlien Croes for signing the agreement, ensuring that the spirit of brotherhood fostered by the Interinsular Games will continue for another four years for the young athletes of Aruba, Bonaire and Curaçao.
