The Minister of Justice, Integrity, Public Transport, and Energy, mr. drs. Arthur Dowers, met with a large group of tour companies to hear their concerns directly and to analyze together the situation that has arisen on Aruba’s north coast.
The meeting took place after several tour operators encountered boulders placed as obstacles in different parts of the north coast a few weeks ago. This situation caused serious concern and uncertainty within the sector, as it could impact their daily operations and the visitors’ experience.
During the meeting, representatives of the tour companies had the opportunity to share their concerns and suggestions, while Minister Dowers and the Department of Public Transport (DTP) listened carefully to the various points presented.
The meeting proceeded in a constructive and respectful atmosphere, where all parties expressed their commitment to continue working together toward solutions that are in the best interest of Aruba.
As a result of the meeting, it was concluded that it is important to strike a balance between limiting nuisances, maintaining public order, and guaranteeing safety in public areas, without losing sight of the importance of the tour sector and the contribution it makes to our country’s economy.
Minister Dowers thanked the representatives of the tour companies for their willingness and cooperation, emphasizing that continuous dialogue between the government and the private sector is essential to achieving sustainable solutions that benefit both the community and visitors.
