The University of Aruba, The University of Curaçao, Utrecht University and The Hague University are enthusiastic to share their new partnership focused on strengthening administrative capacity in the Dutch Caribbean through lifelong learning. In the past week, the partners gathered in Aruba and Curaçao to start up this project with focus groups from diverse sectors. During these focus groups different professionals in the field gave their input and perspectives regarding the needs in their field.

The purpose of this partnership and project is to strengthen governance throughout the Dutch Caribbean. This platform will offer a collaborative view of higher educational modules to strengthen administrative capacity in the different sectors on the islands through courses, workshops and masterclasses. These consist of existing courses that are offered across different programs at the partner universities. Moreover, courses will be offered in different formats such as face-to-face, hybrid or completely online, making it more accessible.

Through this project we aim to promote lifelong learning to all professionals looking to acquire knowledge and skills, developing themselves further. The strength of this partnership also lies in the different perspectives across the countries, including local context and culture while also keeping an international lens.
