Amid applause, joy, lively atmosphere, and vibrant colors, the most beloved season of our island officially began. On 11-11 at 11:11 a.m., in front of all invited guests and sponsors, the official Carnival jingle echoed to welcome Carnival 72.
Prime Minister Mike Eman, as the authority responsible for Culture, delivered remarks during the ceremony. He congratulated the organizations SMAC, MUSICA, and everyone actively involved in maintaining Aruba’s Carnival at a high standard.
He highlighted the great talent within our community — in art, music, and creativity — and also drew attention to an aspect that is not always emphasized: the cooperation of an entire community, where everyone contributes in their own way to creating something great for our country.
During the carnival season, Aruba becomes a collaboration of all neighborhoods, clubs, organizations, and citizens, who together bring our Carnival to life and present this cultural product to the world.
Prime Minister Eman wished the carnival community success in their preparations and in making Aruba’s Carnival even greater. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to support, wherever possible, the organizations that make our Carnival special. In every aspect — creativity, volunteerism, talent, dedication, and the deep sense of pride — we can proudly say that Aruba’s Carnival is the best in the world.
