Statia Government Advances Implementation Of Ibabs Governance Platform

Statia Government recently advanced the implementation of the iBabs digital governance platform as part of its ongoing efforts to improve efficiency, transparency, and data security within public administration.

The implementation, which is currently in progress, is being carried out in close coordination with SIM Caribbean and iBabs Netherlands.

The iBabs platform is being used by members of the Executive Council, Island Council, and supporting civil servants to manage agendas, distribute documents securely, and streamline decision-making processes faster. As part of the implementation process, a new website for the Island Council and a public interface for the Council Information System is also being developed.

SIM Caribbean, acting on behalf of contract partner Shift2 and iBabs Netherlands, has served as the primary local point of contact for the technical and functional implementation. The company is also responsible for providing training and ongoing support to Statia Government personnel as well as Island council operations.

The ongoing use of iBabs reflects Statia Government’s commitment to modernizing its operations, ensuring secure handling of official documentation, and strengthening transparency in its decision-making processes. It also supports audit readiness and alignment with regulatory standards.
