PLAN International, one of the world’s leading organizations in child rights and youth protection, continues to strengthen its role in the Caribbean by offering direct support to Aruba. The federation provides technical guidance, strategic assistance, and program development to enhance sexuality education in a safe and locally relevant manner.
As part of this effort, Ms. Ashley Bryant, Global Lead at PLAN International in the areas of sexuality, youth protection, and wellbeing, visited Aruba to collaborate directly with Famia Planea on their new project.
Bryant described her first impression of Aruba as “wonderful,” expressing admiration for the warmth of the Aruban people and the commitment of local institutions. While she enjoyed her stay, she emphasized that the primary purpose of her visit was to deliver concrete and professional support to Famia Planea in strengthening their sexuality education initiatives.
According to Bryant, international collaboration is essential for a small island with limited resources like Aruba. It ensures that educational programs remain modern, safe, and aligned with global standards, enabling youth to receive accurate information and guidance that protects and empowers them.
