Avoid problems at the border: The Public Prosecutor’s Office asks travelers to pay fines on time

Ministerio Publico 4

The Public Prosecutor’s Office urges all travelers to pay their outstanding fines on time. Persons with open fines can be stopped at the border until they pay the amount they owe.

The moment a person goes through checkpoint control at the airport, the officer can see on the computer if there is a flag next to their name, indicating an unpaid fine. In this case, the person will be detained and can only proceed after they have paid their debt. This can result in losing their flight, facing unexpected expenses, or having their vacation budget affected… not to mention the stress and disappointment this situation will cause.

The Public Prosecutor’s Office advises travelers to check in advance before their trip if they have any outstanding fines and to come pay them. If you are not completely sure, you can send an email to info@omaruba.aw. Do not forget to include your full name.

Citizens can pay at the cashier of the Public Prosecutor’s Office. There is no need to make an appointment: just walk in. The Public Prosecutor’s Office is open on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 8:00 AM to 11:30 AM and from 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM. Fridays are an exception, as the Public Prosecutor’s Office is only open in the morning. Payment can be made in cash or online (via bank account 4000905 at Arubabank).

The Public Prosecutor’s Office wishes everyone a happy vacation.
