A man arrested for committing immoral acts with a minor in Curacao

Homber Deteni Pa Comete Acto Inmoral Cu Menor Di Edad Na Corsou

Following an investigation that Barber police began in the early hours of Saturday, August 26, 2023, in which a mother reported that her minor daughter had left home the previous day, police made an arrest.

In the evening hours of Saturday, at the family’s indication, the Barber police went to an apartment complex in Leliënberg and there they met the minor girl in the company of the suspected man M.F.B. 34 years old born in Curaçao.

The suspect was detained at about 8:15 p.m. for committing immorality with a minor and was brought before an assistant prosecutor, who ordered his detention pending further investigation.

The girl was handed over to the department that deals with cases of misconduct.

Police want to draw attention to the fact that sexual intercourse or committing any immoral act with a minor is punishable by law.

With some regularity, minors, mostly teenagers, leave home with the intention of meeting underage men and/or when they are on the street, they are approached by older men for intimacy.

It is good to emphasize that even though a minor willingly accepts or offers, it does not take away from the guilt of the older person, who is expected to know and be able to judge or choose better.
