In an initiative rarely seen in Aruban politics, the PPA Faction has sent a formal invitation to all faction leaders in Parliament and to Aruba’s main commercial groups to gather in a single space and share information with the public regarding HOFA and LWHO.
According to Member of Parliament Eduard Pieters, the time has come for Aruba to put the country’s interests first. “We cannot continue discussing a topic of this magnitude in separate spaces. If HOFA and LWHO are going to have an impact on Aruba’s financial future and autonomy, the information must be shared in an open and transparent manner with the public,” Pieters declared.
For this reason, PPA has invited all political leaders represented in Parliament to participate and share their vision and position on these two laws. At the same time, invitations were also sent to the main commercial groups, including CUA, ATIA, AFBA, AHATA, KvK, and SNBA.
For PPA, this topic has already crossed political party lines. The goal is not to create confrontation, but rather to share information objectively. This evening is for Aruba to listen directly to political leaders and representatives of the commercial sector, ask questions, and form its own conclusion based on facts and arguments.
PPA expresses that this invitation is open to all faction leaders and all commercial groups, because decisions that could affect Aruba’s future should not be discussed in isolation. “Regardless of political color, Aruba belongs to all of us. And the people deserve to hear all positions before Parliament makes definitive decisions,” Pieters emphasized.
The meeting will take place on June 16, 2026, at SIMAR, Sabana Blanco 36, from 6:30 to 8:30 PM, with Mrs. Shirley Eisden serving as the independent moderator.
More than just a debating event, this is a call for national dialogue, participation, and transparency. Because when it comes to the future of Aruba, information should not divide us; information should unite us.
