Around 6:19 p.m., near Dyon Center in Madiki, five individuals—both adults and minors—were detained. The incident began when the Police Central Station received a call reporting that a suspicious car with armed individuals inside was parked in the Madiki area. Upon this alert, police patrols were urgently dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, the authorities encountered the described vehicle. However, when police signaled the car to stop, the driver chose not to comply and instead sped off, initiating a high-speed chase on public roads. The flight continued up to the Riverplate stadium area, where police personnel finally managed to intercept and stop the car.
Upon conducting a more thorough inspection of the vehicle, they found:
• Five male suspects: A group consisting of three minors and two adults.
• Drugs: A quantity of prohibited substance found inside the car was confiscated.
Although the initial check revealed drugs, the firearm that triggered the original call has not yet been located. Authorities suspect that the occupants may have thrown the weapon away during the chase, likely near the sports field along the escape route.
The five suspects were detained and taken to the police station for further investigation. In addition to the individuals, police confiscated both the vehicle involved and the drugs found. The search for the firearm is taking place in the relevant areas in order to recover it.
