The Autentico Culinary Festival served as a valuable platform for students to learn and actively participate in The Pavilion event. The Aruba Tourism Authority (A.T.A.) recognized the importance of involving students in the festival to give them hands-on learning opportunities and to further develop their skills in hospitality and culinary arts.

During the two-day event, more than 60 students and 3 instructors from Colegio EPI participated actively in various roles. Students from EPI’s Hospitality Management program, particularly those enrolled in Event Management, played a key role in the festival. They helped enhance the visitor experience by answering questions and assisting with guest guidance. Several students also managed the hospitality desk, supported different vendors, culinary and mixology classes, and assisted in collecting data by helping visitors complete event surveys.

Additionally, Culinary Arts students worked alongside local and international chefs during the cooking demonstrations, gaining valuable practical experience. Their participation also contributed directly to their academic credits.

The EPB schools also played a part in the Autentico Culinary Festival. For the first time in this second edition, schools were invited to participate as vendors during The Pavilion. EPB Oranjestad and EPB San Nicolas both joined the festival this year with their own booths. Under the guidance of their teachers, students prepared all the dishes to be sold at their booths each evening. This experience provided them with the opportunity to learn how to plan, prepare, and present a gastronomic product at a professional event.

The dedication and contributions of all students were essential to the success of the festival. This initiative and collaboration with the schools emphasize A.T.A.’s commitment to supporting the development of future professionals in the culinary and hospitality sectors, reinforcing its strategy to foster local talent and practical skills to further elevate Aruba’s vibrant tourism industry.

The Aruba Tourism Authority extends its gratitude to all students, instructors, and schools for their participation and contributions to the success of the Autentico Culinary Festival.
