Tension and frustration over salary increases only for high-ranking officials. Since the AVP–FUTURO government came to power, part of the population has noticed a lack of transparency, inequality, and political mistakes. Today, the consequences of poor management are evident, particularly in the public sector.
Almost every government department is expressing anger and dissatisfaction regarding the recent salary increases, which, according to members, were implemented only for officials at scale 13 and higher. This situation has caused feelings of inequality and discrimination, generating tension and frustration in daily work.
What is the government’s intention? Is it to break the middle class?
According to local analysis, Ministers Geoffrey Wever and Gerlien Croes have demonstrated an inability to manage public sectors constructively during their terms. Since entering politics, they have shown only incapacity and destruction. Controversies include: management of HOFA, handling of businesses in agriculture and fishing, late reporting of last quarter numbers, spending funds meant for BAN CAYA as police, and foundations addressing mental health needing resources to help the community. Government decisions by AVP-FUTURO appear to be made for personal pleasure rather than for the people who need real assistance. Their political style has caused tension and demotivation in the community, particularly among young people who represent the country’s future.
Even though the AVP party continues to support this, ignoring the imbalance and misunderstanding that three seats are fewer than the seats AVP received, unfortunately, they go along with it.
The salary imbalance for scale 13 and higher has triggered alarm at all levels of public departments, highlighting the need for transparency, equal treatment, and recognition for all civil servants.
Unions have received letters from their members demanding clarity and concrete action. The big question is: will the unions continue to defend every member, or will they side with the government?
This situation reflects a deep-rooted problem causing frustration, demotivation, and social tension in the public sector, and it highlights the urgent need for inclusive and fair action.
