The community of Aruba is in mourning over the passing of Randolf Vrolijk, affectionately known as Mr. Vrolijk, an educator at heart and a visionary in the education sector. Mr. Vrolijk passed away last night after a long battle with heart problems.
With his passing, Aruba loses a man who gave his life and soul to the tool of knowledge for our people.
For many years, Mr. Randolf Vrolijk served as a dedicated teacher and mentor who always held education close to his heart. His passion was not only to give lessons, but to guide, inspire, and motivate his students to achieve more in life. He saw potential where others saw nothing and left an indelible mark on the lives of hundreds of students who passed through his classes and his foundation.
One of the greatest and most valuable achievements of Mr. Randolf Vrolijk in our community was the founding of FEPA. Understanding that education should have no age and that many citizens needed a second chance in life, he established this institute with a clear goal: to give both adults and youth the opportunity to continue studying, strengthen their knowledge, and take practical courses.
Thanks to this pioneering initiative, an endless number of people managed to enter or re-enter the labor market with confidence, improving their position and professional future. FEPA remains a living testament to his inclusive vision and his love for the progress of his country.
Mr. Randolf Vrolijk will be remembered as the noble, brave, and always helpful educator who put human progress first. Although he is no longer with us, his teachings, his advice, and the seed of knowledge he planted in the hearts of his children, youth, and adults will continue to bear fruit forever.
Mr. Randolf is the brother of Member of Parliament Edgar Vrolijk.
