The National Library of Aruba invites all children, together with their parents, to participate in a completely free cultural activity that will take place this Monday at 5:30 p.m.
The institution’s activities committee has announced a small change in the schedule of its programs. Previously, activities were held at 3:00 p.m., but from now on they will officially begin at 5:30 p.m. All new activities will follow this new schedule.
During Monday’s event, attending children will be able to enjoy various recreational and educational activities. There will be interactive games and also a special presentation by Madelin and her cultural group, who will demonstrate traditional Aruban dances adapted for young children. The goal is to familiarize the younger generation with the dances and cultural expressions that form part of Aruba’s heritage.
Knowledge of local songs and dances is no longer integrated into the school curriculum as it once was. This may have an impact on children’s cultural development and their understanding of their own identity. For this reason, the institution continues to make efforts to organize activities focused on Aruban culture and roots.
The National Library emphasizes that the activity is open to all children and their families and represents an opportunity to spend an enjoyable time while learning more about Aruba’s identity and traditions.
Admission is free, and interested persons may present themselves this Monday at 5:30 p.m. at the National Library of Aruba.
